Cornelly
About This Spot
Stepping into Cornelly, you’re greeted by a vibrant, earnest energy that settles warmly around its cozy, urban nook on Seattle’s Summit Avenue. It's the kind of place where the hum of anticipation feels just as delicious as the smells wafting from the kitchen. The pace here moves with thoughtful ease—just lively enough to feel alive but relaxed enough to encourage lingering conversations and quiet moments alike.
This restaurant is a haven for lovers of thoughtfully crafted Italian fare, where each plate and pizza tells a story of balance and boldness without overwhelming. The room hums with the subtle clatter of plates and soft conversations, hinting at the communal joy of breaking bread with others. The wood-fired pizzas emerge with crusts that draw you in—a thin, crisp perfection that invites you to savor every bite, from the first to the last crumb. Meanwhile, pastas are served with a confident playfulness, blending unexpected notes like pistachio and lemon or a rich, hearty pork sausage ragù that's as comforting as it is invigorating.
Cornelly’s intimacy invites you to slow down, especially knowing the queues that form early in the evening—a testament not just to the quality but to the genuine affection locals hold for this spot. Whether you’re sampling a bright, green-hued kale pizza or savoring a pasta sauced just right to coat and comfort rather than drown, there’s a clear intention behind the flavors that sets this place apart.
It’s also a subtle celebration of simplicity dressed in thoughtful complexity. The service hums efficiently, but with a human touch that makes the wait feel like part of the ritual, not a hurdle. Drinks here, too, lean into authenticity—whether it’s a well-chosen Barbera or a nonalcoholic spritz with floral and herbal whispers, they complement rather than compete with dinner.
For those who value a setting that isn't overly polished yet never feels casual in a careless way, Cornelly strikes a fine balance. It’s a space where the food tastes like a conversation between ingredients, one that invites you to participate, savor, and return to discover the next flavorful chapter.

This place is pretty much always packed. I'd attempted to come here at 6 a month prior, and after finding out it would be an hour wait, decided to eat somewhere else. This time we decided to come at 5:10 (basically right when it opened!) and it was still an hour wait. We decided to stick it out though, and it ended up being around 45 minutes Before getting the pizza, we decided to order bread service. This proved to be an incredibly good decision This might be the best bread I've ever had pre-meal in any restaurant in my life. It's that good. The bread comes out in four massive, semicircular-like 3d shapes of sourdough, and even just looking at it - you know you've never seen anything like it before. The edges running all the way to the summit are charred super well, and a beautiful golden brown color from the butter runs through each of the sides. Upon taking a bite, I was blown away even further. The outside is so incredibly crunchy - possibly the crunchiest bread I've ever had. Meanwhile, the inside is somehow pillowy soft, which creates an all-time good textural combination. Somehow, there are even olives inside! I spread the herbed butter on top of the bread, and this brought it to even another level. Just amazingly good stuff. The salt levels in both the butter and the bread were absolute perfection. Later on, we were given the hot honey pizza that we ordered - decided to share this between 2 people. This was a good pizza, but nothing special in my opinion It was very liquidy - probably a bit too much for me, having essentially no structural integrity whatsoever. The cornicione (outer crust) was very chewy, and quite difficult to get down. I also didn't really get much spice from the supposed hot honey. What I did like was the combination of red sauce, cheese, and pineapple worked well together Lastly, we got the salted chocolate chip cookie - which was again very good. Again with fantastic levels of salt Since we split the pizza, the total cost ended up being around 25 per person, which I thought was pretty reasonable Overall, if I was just ranking the bread & dessert, this would be a 10/10, but the pizza being on the mostly-good side gets this to an 8.5/10

We got in line at 4;45 and were the second group seated. After reading lots of reviews about wait times we decide to go early and no regrets. The pesto spaghetti was incredible. It was perfectly al dente and flavors were balanced. We loved the bold pistachio and the lemon. Also it was nice and saucy! The pizza was good but not great. The crust was well cooked and had good structure but we found the toppings a bit bland of the nightshade pizza. The eggplant was so thin it didn’t add much flavor, the sausage didn’t have much fennel and overall we found it a bight light on flavor when we were hoping for more. It was a lovely dining experience but we wouldn’t rate it as our favorite pizza place.

We ordered the Chanterelle Kale pizza and the leek salsa verde pasta. Both were good. First the pizza - it's a sourdough Neopolitan style pizza with a solid 9/10 flavorful base. However, it was too busy. There were too many elements which weren't necessarily complimentary to each other. It was a similar story on the pasta as well. Too many elements for the pasta which didn't really let the main flavor come through as much. The food can benefit from a less is more approach if they want to step it up. The atmosphere is great - very casual and you are basically in their kitchen with the chefs cooking for you. The service was very warm and welcoming. So no points taken for that. I will be back to try some more of the pizzas in the future. Cheers!

Honestly one of the best pizza places I’ve ever been to! The restaurant is cozy and aesthetic, perfect for a cute date or a nice dinner!! You’ll want to go early since they don’t take reservations and there’s usually a wait. Their pizzas and pastas are top tier, soso delicious, and I can’t wait to go more often to try everything on the menu. I’ve already been four times!

The food is great and service is super quick! We got the hornet honey and their kale pizze which were both fantastic. I would skip any condiments as the pizzas are perfectly seasoned and flavored as they come. It is definitely the kind of place where you DON'T skip eating the crust because they know exactly how to make a thin crust pizza taste fantastic. Our experience with the host on this particular evening was not the best but could have just been a product of how busy the place was although it certainly made the experience a little less fun.

been meaning to try this spot for a while and finally got to last night. highly recommend walking or taking transit since parking is impossible. food was solid: the pesto spaghetti wasn’t too nutty or minty and perfectly al dente, and the pizza was great. sadly, the bread service was sold out, but i’ll be back to see if it lives up to the hype. great outdoor vibes in the summer too.

Tried this place while visiting and damn. Just damn it was so good. The Hornet Honey is probably the best version of pepperoni/pineapple you can find on this earth. The crust was crisp, the sauce was light and flavorful. Those roasted pineapples cut through the grease of the pepperoni just right. The pasta was very fresh and had a delightful chew that just added to how delightful the whole dish was. Even if I can only do takeout, this place is on my shortlist for when I visit again!
